Building the Nightmare – 15 Years of Fear
Kelburn’s Haunted Forest has been terrifying audiences for 15 years, and 2025 marks our biggest leap yet.
Every year, our team raises the bar in ambition, atmosphere, and performance but this year, we’re combining brand-new horrors with the return of some all-time favourites from past trails.
In 2025, the Nightmares trail will immerse you in a living horror story about the mysterious Nightmare Box, an artefact said to hold humanity’s deepest fears. Something has disturbed it… and now those fears are loose in the forest.

This year’s cast and crew are top tier, relentless in keeping the scares coming while keeping the story flowing. With Kelburn and Comharra’s partnership growing stronger every year, the atmosphere is better than ever.
We also put wellbeing first. Our operations team checks in regularly with event staff and actors to make sure everyone feels safe, comfortable, and supported to deliver their very best performances.
Not only are we providing a solid team foundation to build each year’s event on, but we’re anchoring the quality people have come to expect from the Haunted Forest. We can’t do that without the right people.
